Portocel
Our People
Portocel has a team of 249 own employees. The profile of these professionals is marked by diversity: men and women from different age groups and ethnic origin, who have worked for the company for an average of 12 years. It is further supported by a team of 125 outsourced workers, in addition to temporary workers, who average 400 every month.
These teams receive specific training and are duly prepared to offer services with high productivity (world record of 37,168 tons/day/ship), high quality (lowest damage level) and superior safety, in compliance with international standards and with the ISPS Code.
One of Portocel’s Management Beliefs is the human potential: “People are unique and develop their potential when we invest time, cultivate their talent, value their deliveries and recognize their merit.”
To encourage the integration of teams and foster interpersonal relationship, Portocel organizes several sports and social events throughout the year. The Company also regularly evaluates the Human Development Index (HDI) of its employees, based on three key indicators: absenteeism, training matrix and overtime, with positive results.
Portocel’s teams also have professional incentive and career development programs, with a training matrix that monitors the employee’s development throughout the year and encourages the formation of leaders. The company’s culture is centered on valuing internal professionals and recognizing their talents and capacities.
Believing in the human potential, the company has launched the Portocel Improvement Program (PAP), which trains and develops the company’s professionals, providing knowledge and skills to support the performance of their functions and contributing to achieving strategies and the sustainability of operations.
In its policy to promote open dialogue with the teams, Portocel created the Ombudsman, which is responsible for maintaining the principles of the Code of Conduct, while serving as a channel for continuous contact with employees. The Ombudsman is a practical and functional means of communication and can be accessed through the Internet, telephone and mail to hear questions, criticism, praise, complaints and to record operational incidents.
