Portocel is located in the Barra do Riacho district of the municipality of Aracruz, on the northern coast of the state of Espírito Santo, 30 nautical miles (70 Km) north of the Port of Vitória, whose jurisdiction it is in.
The terminal's main installations are within the Barra do Riacho Organized Port area, comprised of two berthing piers, and is located 2 km from the Fibria pulp mill.

Highway
Road access is via a 1.8-km side road of the ES-010 state highway, which connects up with the municipal and federal highway systems in Espírito Santo. Through this system, the terminal is linked to Vitória and the federal highways that connect the state capital to the other economic centers of the country.
Coast
The coastal route until Vitória, via the ES-010 highway, passes through Santa Cruz, Nova Almeida, Jacaraípe and Manguinhos, corresponding to a distance of about 70 km to the capital of the state.
Interior
The road option into the interior of the state is via the ES-257 highway, which connects up with the BR-101 highway at the city of Ibiraçu, on the other side of the municipality of Aracruz. The distance between the terminal and Vitória through this road is 100 km.
Railroad
Rail connection with the terminal is via a 46-km branch line until the Piraquê-Açu station near João Neiva. This station permits connection with the railroad that links Vitória to Itabira (MG) at km 75 of the Vitória-Minas Railway - EFVM, part of Vale's railroad system. The main train maneuvering yard is located about 2 km from the terminal.
