Other information

Portocel uses an Operating System that allows it to manage all of the processes related to the activities of the port. The different phases of the operation are handled by remote controllers or local stations, receiving instructions and confirming the execution of services.

This system controls the scheduling and berthing of the vessels, internal cargo movement, ship unloading and loading operations, stevedore records and inspections and oversight.

The system is linked to the Foreign Trade Integrated System (Siscomex), which integrates the related activities of the Foreign Trade Secretariat, the Federal Tax Secretariat and the Central Bank of Brazil via the Internet.

Operational records are collected electronically, using micro-data collection devices, and transmitted in real time to a database.
